FAQ’s

2014-05-29 10.10.01FAQS

  1. How do I use my small group and/or personal training workouts each month?

Your membership agreement provides you with a specific number of training sessions each month. Of course, with the unlimited option, you receive an unlimited amount of sessions. Please see our Programs page for further details. Any unused training sessions do not carry over month-to-month. We will do our best to ensure that you meet your sessions each month by offering motivation and scheduling support; however, we ask that you also schedule small group and/or personal sessions accordingly so that they last the entire month.

  1. How do I set up an appointment for my first workout?

Give us a call or drop in! At Inspire, we start everyone out the same. You can come in, check out the space and speak to our staff. We’ll set you up with a Starting Point Session. In this session, you will meet our owner Keith and tell him any goals or concerns you may have. Keith will lead you through the Functional Movement Screen so that we can create a program based on your needs. You may also do a quick fitness assessment with him. You can also e-mail Keith at keith@inspirepersonalfitness.com to get started.

  1. How will I learn to use the equipment?

At Inspire, it is very important that our members perform exercises in the correct form in order to live life better. Incorrect form while working out can lead to injury and pain, not to mention the fact that it may prevent you from seeing the results you want! During your initial Personal Fitness Assessment, our director will make sure you’re comfortable using any equipment needed. Following this assessment, your individualized program (updated every 4-6 weeks) will include a coaching session to ensure that you know how to use the equipment and perform the exercises correctly. During your On Point session (4-6 weeks after your program has been implemented), we will update your program based on your needs. We can also talk about any concerns you might have during this session. After 4 to 6 weeks of functional training at Inspire, you’ll be surprised by how much better you move. And of course, if you ever have any questions about equipment or a specific exercise, please ask any of the staff. We’re here to help!

  1. Do you offer short-term membership options?

We’re serious about seeing you reach goals and get results at Inspire; that is why we recommend our members commit to an annual membership. We’re sure that once you try us out for 14 days, you’ll be hooked! However, we realize some people may not want to make that commitment just yet, so we do offer month-to-month membership options.

Inspire Training Terms Defined

Functional Movement Screen

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a screen that looks at everyday movement patterns that are keys to our body’s normal function. Our certified director will screen these patterns and identify any functional limitations as well as left-right asymmetries that you may have. Through years of sitting at desks, commuting in cars, wearing improper footwear and carrying huge loads on our shoulders, we’ve developed postural changes that limit overall movement.  The screen reveals these limitations, and Inspire coaches to help correct them.

Furthermore, through the FMS, the director is able to design an individualized program that specifically meets YOUR needs. We’ll identify the problem, use corrective exercises to get you feeling better, and continue to track your progress. Whether you’re taking a team or semi-private training session, your coach will know your limitations and instruct you accordingly. Unlike a lot of “boot camp” style classes offered in other gyms, you won’t leave Inspire in pain because your body wasn’t quite ready to perform a certain exercise. We’re here to help you feel better, not add “strength to dysfunction”.

Personal Fitness Assessment

At Inspire, our number one goal is to help you achieve RESULTS. Period. In order to do this, we will design an individualized program to meet your needs. We’ll use this program in your semi-private sessions, but you’ll also be able to use this program on your own with open use of the club. The fitness assessment will occur after the FMS and is painless! Our director will ask you to perform a series of exercises with any modifications needed based on your FMS and then develop the best framework possible to get you to live life better.

Starting Point Session

Your first session with the director of training at Inspire.  In this meeting, you will complete a Functional Movement Screen and Personal Fitness Assessment that will help create a program just for you. Ask the director any questions you may have. Tell him what you want to achieve. We’ll get you there. You’ll go over membership options and a specific plan to get you the results you want.

On Point Session

On Point, sessions will occur every 4 to 6 weeks. During these meetings, you will sit down with the director of training and discuss your progress. The director will make changes to your program, which is crucial to see results. Any changes will also come with a coaching session to ensure that you understand the workouts and how to use the equipment. You might also complete another Functional Movement Screen—you might be surprised by how much better you can move!

Small-Group Personal Training

Small group personal training sessions are groups of 2-6 people. This is really the best option for achieving the results you want. Members who participate in small group personal training get individualized attention WITH a fun, team atmosphere creating motivation, exercise adherence, and camaraderie among members. Simply sign up with the online scheduler and show up! We’ll fill up the session for you—no need to struggle with a friend to find a time that works best for both of you.

Members receive access to these sessions with the Small Group Personal Training Membership options. Again, with our Trial Membership option of 7 days for FREE, members receive unlimited small group personal training sessions and more!
