EVERY HERO HAS AN ORIGIN STORY

YOU WILL TOO, SOON ENOUGH

IN THE MEANTIME, HERE’S HOW OURS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

“BEING THE BEST YOU CAN BE, THAT’S DOABLE. THAT’S POSSIBLE FOR ANYBODY IF THEY PUT THEIR MIND TO IT.” – Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel

WHAT DO ALL HEROES HAVE IN COMMON?

AN ORIGIN STORY

Steve Rogers was so scrawny and weak; even the U.S. Army rejected him during a time of war. But then he was chosen to receive a special, secret “Super-Soldier” Serum transforming him into Capitan America.

Tony Stark suffered a crisis of conscience after being kidnapped and forced to create a weapon intended to kill innocent civilians. But he used his brilliance to create a prototype iron suit, and  I ron Man was born.

Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, transforming him into the Amazing Spider Man.

A CODE

Bruce Wayne witnessed the brutal, cold-blooded murder of his parents. As a result, he swore an oath to never kill anyone as the Batman.

Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman’s code: “Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.”

Captain America: “When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth and tell the whole world, ‘No. YOU move.'”

A PURPOSE

In the words of Barry Allen, aka the Flash, “Life doesn’t give us a purpose. We give life purpose.”

Superman: “Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul I swear…until my dream of a world where dignity, honor, and justice becomes the reality we all share…I’ll never stop fighting. Ever.”

Martian Manhunter: “The future is worth it. All the pain. All the tears. The future is worth the fight.”

A hero’s first job is to protect. Protector becomes purpose.

INSPIRE PERSONAL FITNESS’ ORIGIN STORY, CODE & PURPOSE

OUR ORIGIN STORY

Keith Wimsett, a mild-mannered graphic designer and art director of 12 years, was unexpectedly bitten by an infectious fitness bug the first day he walked into a kickboxing facility.

The aftereffect resulted in a superpower adrenaline rush coursing through his veins.

Then, our newly empowered hero began exercising his superpower in a different way. He went the extra mile and became a certified kickboxing instructor.

Keith immediately began teaching classes, spinning his heroic enthusiasm to students twice a week. Soon, his super-powerful influence started transforming students bodies and lives.

That’s when Keith decided to dedicate his life to personal training, quit his art director’s job, and opened Inspire Personal Fitness in 2006.

Since then, Keith has helped transform the lives of thousands of mere mortals into super-fit heroes, helping bring out the best in their humanity.

He believes fitness is a lifestyle, much like heroes live a heroic lifestyle. Heroes are prepared and conditioned when the occasion arises, but they don’t make working out their career.

And most of us aren’t training for bodybuilding or Ironman Triathlon competitions, either.

That means Keith finds REAL, practical, and long-lasting solutions that work for YOU.

OUR CODE

Identify the villains: Decay, Master Overlord of Disease… and his diabolical siblings, the seductive twin sisters, Stagnation and Sedentary. Together, they go by the name: ATROPHY.

Recognize the problem: This unholy trinity is an enemy to overall health and wellbeing, whose sole mission is to destroy the lives of countless millions.

Find cures to help neutralize their superpowers – Motivation Killers. Together, they have the ability to infect their victims with the paralyzing power of apathy. ATROPHY wants people bored and hating exercise so that they can suck the life out of motivation.

Acknowledge their damaging results: Thousands, possibly millions of people each year flee gyms and abandon healthy lifestyles because Stagnation’s power always defeats motivation.

The solution? Introducing our superpowers:

VISION

Inspire Personal Fitness, recognizing the need for a fun and inviting fitness experience, offers members individualized training, coaching, and guidance from a caring and supportive team.

MISSION

Be the best part of our member’s day. Everyday!

CULTURE

We cultivate a family and team spirit. Oh sure, we have fun with competitions. But we never leave teammates in the dust at Inspire. Faster and heavier is not always better.

OUR PURPOSE

Protector as purpose. A trainer’s first job is to protect; to “First, do no harm.”

Our purpose differs vastly from the gyms who want you to deadlift heavy weight fast as you can. That will not happen here. There are gyms for that purpose. Inspire isn’t one of them.

Our purpose, our Core Operating Values, start with the Hippocratic Oath, “First, do no harm.”

CORE OPERATING VALUES:

1) First, Do No Harm. We’ll tell you, “Slow down. Look at your form. Take time for recovery.”

2) Be Inspirational. It’s the first step in defeating Stagnation.

3) Build a Positive Team and Family Atmosphere. There’s enough negative in this world. We’ll allow none of that here.

4) Honesty and Transparency.  We’ll keep no secrets from you.

5) Embrace and Encourage Change. Every hero goes on a journey, and that means challenges. Embrace them.

6) Be Professional and Personable. Both. Not just one.

7) Fun and Humor. Who says working out has to be dull and boring? We don’t let Stagnation and her seductive sister, Sedentary, tempt you away from the straight and narrow path.

8) Be Authentic. Like Captain America authentic.

9) Have a Genuine Interest in Others. A natural characteristic of the heroic, like Superman.

10) Integrity–Lead by Example. We practice what we preach.

Keith Wimsett – Owner/Coach:

KeithKBKeith Wimsett has owned an Asheville Personal Fitness gym since 2006. After spending 12 years as a graphic designer and art director Keith Wimsett discovered kickboxing. The competitive nature and challenging workouts of the sport appealed to him immediately. In 1998 Keith became a certified kickboxing instructor and began teaching weekly classes at a local gym. Seeing the physical and mental changes happening to his students he decided he wanted to do more. After becoming ACE certified in 2002, Keith quit his job as an art director and dedicated his life to fitness. Since then Keith has used his creativity to develop unique and individualized programs for his clients using a variety of training techniques. He believes that exercise should be challenging and varied. “Stagnation is a killer to any workout program,” Keith states, “you have to constantly change and challenge yourself to get results.”
