I want to share a funny story with you

Hey gang,

If you are a member here at Inspire or were one in the past, then you have probably met my oldest daughter Ayla. She is often with me at the gym. Well, the other day I was working with a one on one client who has been a member since we opened our doors almost twelve years ago. Needless to say, he has watched Ayla grow up. And on this particular day Ayla was with me.

We were finishing the workout and my client was about to do his last set of pushups.

Just before he started he looked at Ayla and said, “Ayla sit on my back and let’s see how many I can do.”

Ayla then said, “How many are you going to do?”

To which he replied, “I was going to do 30 but with you on my back I doubt I’ll get that many.”

Without any hesitation Ayla looked him straight in the eye and said, “Well not with that attitude you won’t!”

(Pause for laughter)

While my client and I found that statement very funny I also realized Ayla had just taught us a very important lesson. A lesson about mindset.

You see, humans are amazing beings. We can also be our own worst critics. We are constantly telling ourselves that we can’t do this or we can’t do that and often times don’t even try because of all the negative self-talk.

Today I’m going to invite you to think differently.

And my invitation comes with asking yourself this question:

“If I knew I could accomplish anything I set my mind to, what would be the first thing I’d want to do?”

What is that one thing you want to accomplish first?

Maybe it’s getting to the gym three times next week. Maybe it’s finally asking your boss for that much deserved raise. Maybe it’s committing to that nutrition plan we gave you! 😉

Whatever it is I want to encourage you to set your mind to it, know you can do it and then, go do it!

And, if you are willing, I also want to invite you to email me and tell me what that one thing is and I will do everything in my power to support you.

You CAN do this. I believe in you. Now you need to believe in you.

Committed to your success,

Coach Keith
