Renegade Cardiologist Reveals Real Reason For Heart Disease

By Kevin DiDonato MS, CES

In case you were wondering, what you currently know about heart disease – may not entirely be true!

You see, mainstream media seems to have a vendetta against fat – especially saturated fats – as being the number ONE cause for heart disease.

But, do they have it right?

The answer may surprise you!

The Truth About Heart Disease

For years, doctors, cardiologists, and other medical professionals have labeled saturated fats as the number ONE cause of heart disease – and that they should be limited, if not avoided, at all costs.

The reason for this: one study, way back in the 1970s, showed a very casual relationship between high saturated fat intake and heart disease.

But, as many people have stated since that study, it may have had many flaws, leaving saturated fats inaccurately labeled as BAD.

The fact is: You need some level of saturated fats in your diet in order to perform some necessary cellular functions.

So, you’re probably asking: “What is the REAL cause of heart disease?”

Well, wouldn’t you know it, it’s inflammation – mainly caused by a poor diet!

You see, when you eat a poor diet – one that contains plenty of trans-fats from pastries and cookies…

…deep fried foods

…and omega-6 fats

Then you are putting your body at risk for excess damage from free radicals (often called oxidative stress), which increases your inflammation.

And chronic inflammation – the kind of inflammation that NEVER shuts down – has been shown to damage the cells in your body and puts you at risk for a number of different health issues.

Including heart disease!

And did I mention that chronic inflammation is SILENT?  That’s right, most of the time you have NO IDEA that your body is slowly being decimated by this nasty killer.

The only way to tell if you have chronic inflammation is by doing a C-reactive protein test – from your doctor – to determine how high your inflammation is.

And if you have some degree – or a LOT – of chronic inflammation, there are certain steps you need to take…

…RIGHT now in order to lower your inflammation and protect your health.

So what are the steps?

Tips to Lower Chronic Inflammation

Here are some simple tips to reduce your inflammation…

1. Cut Out Refined Carbs

Sugar-sweetened beverages, pastries, cakes, and other dessert options should be avoided if you want to lower your inflammation levels.

These unhealthy snacks spike your blood sugar very quickly, which may lead to the production of pro-inflammatory molecules.

Having these types of food – all the time – may mean you have more molecules that WANT TO SPIKE your inflammation, than those that want to end it.

2. Eat More Berries

Berries – such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries – have powerful antioxidants that may combat the damage caused by free-radicals.

Plus, they may also contain some degree of fiber, which could lead to better maintenance of optimal weight.

Studies show that people who are overweight – even by as much as FIVE to TEN pounds – may already have some degree of inflammation that may be targeting healthy tissue.

3. Eat More FATTY Fish

Fatty fish – such as wild-caught salmon – may contain potent fats that may reduce systematic inflammation levels.

These types of fish contain the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, which may alter your delicate balance between omega3/omega-6 fats.

This could lead to lower inflammation and better overall health – not to mention better heart health.

If you include these THREE tips, then you may find lower chronic inflammation levels, better overall health, and possible improvements in your heart health (from the omega-3 fatty acids).
